Searching for fulfillment in our lives is, we believe, a common denominator. Our search reached the gateway to a path in 1984 when circumstances brought us together in, of all things, singing opposite each other in Puccini's opera, "Tosca." We gradually realized we had much in common during progress through many subsequent performances together and, most importantly, Transcendental Meditation/TM Sidhi Programs. So, after accumulating over 40 years in the evolutionary process of music and meditation, another shift took place in our comfortable lives. What was it?
The answer was brought in 2004 by our friend, Robert Pyszkowski, who offered to teach us something called Reiki. After receiving the necessary training from him and others, we began teaching and realized a cycle was beginning which adapted the basic principles of meditation and music: "There's always more stillness and simplicity to be found in the evolutionary process, so why not apply what we're teaching to ourselves?"
The next cycle officially began in 2008 when we resolved to renew our training and search for accurate documentation about the system of Reiki and follow a direct lineage to its founder, Dr. Mikao Usui. A new search began for qualified teachers in the United States through The International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT), www.reiki.org. That year we completed Reiki I and II taught by Kathie Lipinski, licensed teacher for the International Center for Reiki Training, and subsequently completed ART (Advanced Reiki Training) and Master/Teacher taught by William Lee Rand, President of the ICRT.
In 2009 we completed Karuna Reiki®, developed and taught by William Lee Rand. This clarity and simplicity began the most profound cycle yet . . . and as we work towards the next cycle and the one after that, we're currently teaching all levels of Reiki and Karuna Reiki®, adapting the ethics and class outlines suggested by the ICRT. In addition, we merged the elements of sound ~ voice ~ crystal singing bowls, presenting them through guided meditations and separate workshops.

It's been awhile since adding this paragraph about the next cycle which turned its calendar page in 2012. Teaching Reiki these past few years has been the most rewarding experience of our lives. Through the process of teaching, we became the student and realized there is a lifetime of lessons to learn and share. In addition, we realized the commitment a teacher must have to work on the lessons along with the student and constantly expand with perception to new ways to inspire and teach without interference in the student's journey. Two projects included bringing Reiki to the general public and developing a volunteer program in a home for the elderly, teaching them Reiki. The decision was made this year to shed many of the non-Reiki classes and workshops and dedicate our time to teaching and practicing Reiki exclusively. Comfortable with the decision to surrender to learning and teaching Reiki, adapting the Reiki Precepts in our lives, we will add the next paragraph when there is something more to share.
We're back with some news: In May 2012 we had the privilege of attending the Jikiden Reiki Shoden and Okuden course taught by Frank Arjava Petter and assisted by Mari Hall. The cycle begins again!
